The remnants of me trying to do a concept album, Dread was originally supposed to start the story of the 2q album, but after I scrapped that and made it a collection of songs, I felt I had to keep it. It talks about a man who was exiled because he had uncovered the truth about the government in a particular city that was in the barren wasteland. They shot him in the head, and dropped him hundreds of miles off in the middle of the wastes.
lyrics
Here it comes, starting again,
Drowning inside these walls,
We’re dreading your presence every day.
Staring at the walls, feel it leaking through,
Seal them air tight,
What the fuck are you waiting for?
Cast out into the world,
Remain as still as you can.
We’re all waiting for you to die.
Can you feel it coming through?
Bursting through your veins it’s inside of you.
Bruised and bleeding,
We’re all, on our backs again,
Waiting for it to end.
(Coming for you again)
How’s it feel to be the outcast?
Holding yourself too tightly,
Can’t even breathe.
Watch the ground as you walk,
Don’t try to trip and fall,
No one will help you up.
Silence crosses over you,
Your face grows pail as we
Distribute these threats.
We celebrate your absence,
And alienate your thoughts,
Good riddance.
And we hope you tread the land,
Your plague of truth,
We don’t need.
Silence,
We don’t need to hear you yet.
Please, be quiet,
Don’t speak your mind.
Can you feel it coming through?
Bursting through your veins it’s inside of you.
Bruised and bleeding,
We’re all, on our backs again,
Waiting for it to end.
You’re the disease,
You’re the virus,
You’re the fact,
And we are fiction,
Time to end the story, now.

As you might guess from the title, this is strange and eerie synth music meant to conjure a mystical film where all is not what it seems. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 14, 2023
