A soundscape project for MUSC 142. I did a flashback sort of scene for it, and almost all of the sound effects were recorded and altered to sound like they belonged.
lyrics
About a year ago you sent me to prison,
[bars]
A year ago you set me up for something I didn't do, and for about a year I sat there in that cell.
[fade in gridiron sounds]
Thinking on how I could get my revenge, put you in your place, make you suffer like you had made me suffer. And every single night I thought about what happened.
[cross fade gridiron with rain, thundering]
That stormy night.. right as I was coming home.
[footsteps in rain, from left to right]
I heard those sirens and almost instantly knew, that among the drops of rain, blood had spilled that night too.
[Sirens]
I came home...
[door creaking open]
my wife, my kid... they were dead, and you had set me up for all of this.
[crossfade to quiet, crickets off in the distance]
So, laying there at night in my cell,
I wonder what everything was worth at that moment.
[loading noises begin]
If it was even worth trying to find you.
Trying to get out of here.
I had lost everything, there was nothing left.
[shot – cut out all noise]
That bullet's for you though. Because I found you. I found you and gave myself a reason for the year I'd spent there.
